Pottery Weekenders - May 2019
Our next weekender course will be on Saturday 11th May 2019 and Saturday 18th May 2019. This weekender is going to be themed on "nature". Our weekender course consists of two Satruday morning sessions, from 10am till 12.30pm. Within these sessions you will see the whole process of pottery, including throwing and turning on the wheel, hand-building, decorating and glazing. I will fire the pieces in between sessions for their first firing and once they are decorated, following the second morning, i will glaze fire them. You can then come and collect your two finished pieces at your earliest convenience. I provide cake, tea and coffee throughout each session to keep the inspiration flowing. The weekender course cost is £85 per person. This is payable as an initial deposit of £40 and then a final payment of £45. I have already had good interest in this course so get in touch if you are interested and i can email you a booking form. Look forward to seeing you in May!
What's on at the Pottery
All four classes are currently well into their chosen projects. My Thursday morning class were tasked with making a tea set, including a tea-pot, mugs and a jug. This has been a really fun challenge and has certainly stretched some of my students to fulfill their potential. Also, from the termly classes we have seen an octopus, a bear and a peacock. Several people are now thinking about what they can make for Easter decorations. This term we have also started a home schooling group. This has been challenging, fun and facinating all at the same time. The children have let their imagination run wild and have created some beautiful pieces. If you are interested in signing your child up for a 5 week home schooling group do not hesitate to contact me.
Also coming up from Stonehenge Pottery is an exhibition being held at Cranbourne Garden centre. It is a 5 day exhibition with 5 other artists from around Wiltshire. We hope to exhibit lots of ceramic pieces, as well as some new watercolour paintings. Check back soon for dates and timings.
